MI!!

I'm in Michigan!! I love this place. its sooo gorgeous because of all the trees and lush greenness. It rained every day except today and i love it. there is no smog and everything smells like plants if that makes sense. so here is the post everyone has been waiting for... a summary of the trip so far.

so we got up at 3:30 in the morning on Tuesday and headed to the airport. we had a very uneventful trip. I watched 3 episodes of 24. there were a lot of blood and i felt bad because i was on the aisle and it was kind of just sitting there for everyone to watch, which is fine but i was just praying that kids weren't watching and there was some mom to yell at me for watching something so violent in a public place. we got to GR (Grand Rapids) without any problems and all our luggage got there safely. We got to hang out with Ryan and Malachi VerWys for the entire trip (Malachi is soooo adorable). so that was fun being on the plane with someone we know. Once we got to GR, we got our rental car. We then tried to load all of our luggage in the car. it took us like 6 tries to fit it in. we finally had to accept the fact that it would not all fit into the trunk and put one in the back seat. then we got in and tried to start the car... it wouldn't start. We realized that we loaded the wrong car... my dad was not happy. so we then unloaded and reloaded the new car. Finally, we were on our way.

We drove 2 hours to Ann Arbor. checked into our hotel and went to my cousins', Dave and Beth, apartment. We went to dinner at Noodles & Co. (yummy). Wednesday we hung out with Dave, got a driving tour of U. of Michigan, i watched more 24, and then went to downtown Ann Arbor. We walked around downtown and ate dinner at The Prickly Pear (again yummy!) We went back to their apartment and played Shanghi!! love it. said goodbye to Dave and Beth.

Thursday, we drove back to GR and went to my dad's cousin, Susan and Deik's house. Nancy Winter (aka Mrs. Winters) was here too getting Ali set up in her house. Ali and some of her friends came over and we all played Pit. it was great fun. I also finished 24 season 2. It was sooo crazy and amazing… it left us hanging though which I didn’t like. Friday, we went to Holland, MI (not the country) and picked up Stina. she took us on a tour of downtown Holland and we ate at 8th Street Cafe (also yummy). we went to THE BEACH on Lake Michigan. it was really beautiful. we also looked at all the amazing houses along the lake. Thanks Stina for the tour!

Today, Saturday, I did most of my shopping. So I bought anything I could think of that I needed. I called my roommate and we talked for a few minutes about what we were bringing. She seems really cool. I’m excited to meet her. She is bringing the TV so we bought a mini fridge and hopefully it fits! We went to Panera Bread (Super Yummy!) for lunch. That made me happy because I’ve been wanting to go there ever since we got to GR. There is a new one in Lakewood Mall so you should all go there and try it. It is all soups, salads and sandwiches. They have amazing bread.

I hope you are all doing well. Everyone needs to come out and visit us because you know that you love all your Calvin girls!! Oh I get to move in tomorrow… everyone else is moving in on Monday. Amy will be there so I’ll have at least one person I know. I hope passport isn’t super boring. I miss you all already. Call me!

I was too lazy to go around and look for spelling and grammar mistakes. Besides, I don't want you to shoot me anyway. Again, don't drop heavy boxes on yourself while moving in!
